CT Printers (UK) Printing & Publishing Company Was Acquired by GVF Packaging | Case Study

We negotiated a deal between two printed product manufacturers of popular brands…

Leicester-based CT Printers (UK) manufactures printed product cartons, offering a complete in-house service from design, to printing, to production. The business is run by Ian James and Stephen Tildesley, who offered it for sale to facilitate their retirements.

Founded in 1964, CT Printers has since experienced considerable growth, building and maintaining relationships with prestigious customers and developing an excellent industry reputation. Its clients include Wilko, WHSmith, and most of the UK’s leading supermarkets.

Jennifer Morley, Knightsbridge Senior Deal Executive, led CT Printers’ sale and with the help of Regional Commercial Director Donald Peden – drew the interest of 76 potential buyers, which resulted in 22 meetings being conducted with the most appropriate of them.

In the end, a significant deal was negotiated with GVF Packaging, a similar long-standing company within the same county that has operated since 1982. It too has a glowing clientele base that includes Hotel Chocolat, Opro, and various popular alcohol brands.

The acquisition was led by one of GVF Packaging’s Directors, Gavin Leach, likely identifying CT Printers as a match to its shared one-stop shop business model. Jennifer concluded: “It’s been a rewarding process working with both parties to achieve a positive outcome.”
