Daneriver Hydropower Services Facilities Management & Utilities Company Was Acquired by WT Energy | Deal Summary
Renewable energy specialist sold in just five months, following five competitive offers…
Daneriver Hydropower Services harnesses the energy of the River Dane in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire, through its dedicated hydrogeneration plant.
Founded by husband-and-wife team Mark and Elaine Rippon, feasibility studies began in 2012 and the company first generated electricity during a successful trial at the end of 2015. Its sale was later initiated to realise the wealth created in the following years, after a recent period of strong financial growth.
The UK Government’s Net Zero policy, targeting fully clean electricity by 2035, has boosted demand for renewable energy, particularly hydropower. It remains the world’s largest renewable source, with pumped storage providing more than 90% of stored energy, and many schemes still operating after a century.
The sale opportunity was led by Senior Deal Executive Jennifer Morley, who with the support of the wider team, generated five competing offers. A bidding process was carefully managed to maximise value, with completion secured in just five months of going to market, achieving a highly substantial fee.
The acquirer, WT Energy, was sourced through a prior website registration, highlighting the strength of Knightsbridge’s engaged buyer pool. Founded by Thomas Bellm in 2019, the chemical recycling business based in Ascot, Berkshire, specialises in preventing plastics from being incinerated or landfilled.
Knightsbridge is proud to have delivered another successful deal that strengthens renewable energy and supports a cleaner, more sustainable future.
