European Rail Timetable Printing & Publishing Company Was Acquired by Tronos
Knightsbridge completed its client’s sale in ample time…
European Rail Timetable Limited (ERT) is a monthly publisher of railway timetables covering European countries. It also publishes Rail Map Europe and sells various railway publications from other publishers.
The Peterborough-based business was formed by husband-and-wife team John and Irene Potter in 2013, with the first timetable published in March 2014.
ERT was formed as an independent company after attaining the rights to publish the European Rail Timetable from Thomas Cook, who previously published it for 140 years, ensuring that it is well-known within the industry.
Operating on an international basis, ERT provides its services for clients across a diverse range of sectors, which predominantly includes backpackers and interrailers.
Found in bookshops, travel agents and libraries, its products are sold through a variety of distributors and retailers, as well as via its own website to end consumers.
Knightsbridge Deal Executive Peter Taberner led the sale, explaining: “The Potters wanted to step away from the business after spending a lot of time running it.”
The niche opportunity had a key appeal to interested parties: being fully relocatable, as the Potters operate European Rail Timetable remotely.
The business was bought by Tronos Ltd, a Nottingham-based company that was established in 1936. The acquisition was headed by key figure Adrian Noskwith.
