S W Doughty is a well-established traditional butchers and abattoir based in Kent. The company was established in 1919 and was acquired by the current owners in 1996. By providing consistently high standards of service, S W Doughty has built up and maintained long-standing customer relationships, some of which span over 20 years. The company has established an excellent reputation by providing high quality, locally soured, award-winning products.
The current shareholder approached Knightsbridge with the sale of their business to facilitate their retirement plans.
The opportunity attracted five interested parties and two competing offers.
The final offer came from Duncan Anderson of Holts Farm who currently provide the meat sold by the butchers. The acquisition will enable the farm to provide a full farm to fork service.
